About the Book The development of human being depends greatly on the environment and the situation that child is raised in. Though these are elements directly linked to the biological constructs, such as the existence of DNA which builds the child’s body into the human form, it is not the physical aspects of the people that make them human.
The book entitled “Child Care and Development” focuses on modern way to improve child care and development. The book consists of 18 chapters. Efforts have been made to incorporate information on introduction, principles, prenatal development, child observation assessment, programme, planning and record, physical growth, cognitive, language, social and emotional development, guidelines for assessment, physical care health and safety requirement, diet, nutrition and food, role of adult in promoting physical growth, factor affecting child development, understanding the behaviour of children, health and community care, protection of child and anti-discriminating practice. Important references have also cited for detailed reading.
It is hoped that the book is quite useful for students, teachers and researchers of home science, psychology, sociology, child development specialists, pre-school teachers, home-child care centre, NGO’s policy makers as well as common people having concern for child care and development.
